UMPG sign Lance Ferguson

Universal Music Publishing Australia has signed a global music publishing deal with acclaimed songwriter/producer and artist Lance Ferguson, it was announced today by Bob Aird, UMP Australia MD, and Heath Johns, UMP Australia Director of A&R.

The New Zealand-born, Melbourne-based Ferguson, divides his time between his duties as a broadcaster and DJ and releasing Pop/Electronica under his LANU guise, and leading Australia’s four times ARIA nominated Soul outfit The Bamboos. The accomplished and much sought after collaborator also lends his production, songwriting and guitar skills to a multitude of Australian & international artists including Aloe Blacc, Tim Rogers, Daniel Merriweather, Lyrics Born and Megan Washington amongst many others.

In making the announcement Johns said: "I’ve always admired the quality and diversity of Lance’s work from The Bamboos to Lanu and everything in between. Lance is incredibly talented and motivated and we are looking forward to fostering further collaborations and writing opportunities for him at home and abroad.”

"I am totally excited to become a part of the Universal Publishing roster alongside some of my favourite artists including Bjork, M-Phazes, Metronomy, Feist, Kelis and so many more. So much of my work with The Bamboos and Lanu has been about collaborating with other artists and I can't think of a better home to enable me to continue down that road.”  Said Ferguson.
