"Love is a Battlefield" in the House of Hancock

The classic 80’s pop hit “Love is a Battlefield” co-written by prolific UMP song-writing great Mike Chapman along with Holly Knight and made massively popular by Pat Benatar, has been licensed by the Nine Network for both in programme and  promotional use for the broadcaster’s two-part TV drama spectacular “House of Hancock” - 2015’s epic and outrageous Australian TV mini series.

The dramatic but fast paced emotion that drives the powerful synth-pop track is lyrically and musically a stunning fit for the show, based on the lives of iron ore mining magnate Lang Hancock, wife Rose Porteous, his daughter Gina Rineheart and their widely publicised familial disputes and relationships.

The in-show featured use of the track sees the actress portraying Rose Porteous (Peta Sergeant) perform an ironic, jewellery-encrusted OTT cover of the track for the character of Lang Hancock.  Pre-launch and during the two week screening of the show, the promo featured the original 1983 Pat Benatar recording and aired across Free to Air TV and internet channels.
