The Real Housewives of Melbourne strut into Season 2 with a re-make of a UMP classic

The attitude addled Lee Hazlewood classic “These Boots Were Made For Walking” has been re-recorded by Australia’s very own soul diva, Marcia Hines, in a sassy new promo for second season of The Real Housewives of Melbourne (produced by our friends at Matchbox Pictures), to be broadcast on Arena (Foxtel). The new, jazzed up and brassy cover of the Nancy Sinatra hit works thematically and brilliantly to aptly introduce two new “housewives” against a backdrop of Melbourne Airport’s arrival lounge. This TV Promotion airs till March 2015 across Foxtel, internet and radio. Series appropriate footwear was accommodated via an approved lyric switch to “These Heels are Made for Walking”! These Boots Are Made For Walking has been covered by artists as diverse as Jessica Simpson and Megadeth.

UMPG acquired the infamous Criterion Music Corp catalogue in 2013 and iconic songwriter, producer and singer Lee Hazlewood is just one of the many incredible writers represented as part of the catalogue. Other Hazlewood originals published by Criterion include “Sugar Town”, “Houston” and “Summer Wine”, covered beautifully by Lana Del Rey.
