The Potbelleez

After emerging from their Bondi Beach ‘Wonderland’ studio in 2011 where they had been writing and recording their second album, Destination Now, released in May 2011 dropping 3 massive Platinum and Gold hit records in its wake. Co-produced by Australian dance legend and multiple ARIA Award winner, Paul Mac (Itchee & Scrathee and The Dissacociatives) and Shave (4x UK Top 10 and US Top5 productions), the highly anticipated album has been a smash hit on the charts.

Hello was the first smash single from the sophomore album, Destination Now; it was #1 most added track to Australian radio in 2010, shooting up the Aria Top 40 singles chart, and snatching ARIA Gold certification.

The follow up single, Shake It, grabbed the baton and made an equally impressive sprint to the top, with the 3rd single From The Music shooting to #1 ARIA Australian Singles Chart and boasting Most Added Australian track across the board to radio in April 2011. From the Music was the massive smash selling 100,000 singles and dominating the radio across the country.

Their legendary live show has exploded since their return to the charts, with superstar Usher personally inviting The Potbelleez to tour with him on his OMG tour in Australia and New Zealand. The 14 sold out shows were an incredible success, propelling the band into the international spotlight and giving their local fans a taste of what was to come with their own national Destination Now tour later in the year.

In August 2011 The Potbelleez travel to Ibiza to perform at the legendary Amnesia Nightclub for MTV UK at the “I Want My MTV Ibiza” shows alongside Snoop Dogg, Mark Ronson and Robyn. Finishing the year on a high the band where invited to perform as part of the Lord Mayor’s NYE concert at The Sydney Opera House.

One of Australia’s most loved and recognised bands of today, The Potbelleez are also regulars on the festival circuit and have headlined incredible events including, Homebake, Good Vibrations, Future Music Festival, Stereosonic, The Australian Grand Prix, Australian Rugby League Test Match and NRL Footy Show finale, A League Football Grand Final, Channel 10’s Live NYE broadcast at darling Harbour, Australian Idol Finale on The Sydney Opera House steps and the Galaxy VS Jets game with David Beckham.
