It’s been said that all great producers and songwriters discover a need to do music at an early age. For Mikey Reaves, it began with pots and pans and then cassette tape recorders. Eventually the art of creating beats and merging sounds moved from household appliances to instruments and track programming. The transition has paid off. In 2016, Reaves signed to Universal Music Publishing Group and has become one of the most buzzed about up-and-coming producer/songwriters in the industry.
Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Reaves attended the University of Virginia with a degree in Music and Economics. Since moving to Nashville, he continued to develop his passion as a producer/songwriter out of the immediate spotlight as a guitar tech and tour manager for the pop-rock band, Parachute. His hustle to establish a name for himself in the music scene paired with his focused craft has led to producer and engineer credits on acclaimed projects for artists like Lily Allen, Miley Cyrus, Maroon 5, Matthew Mayfield, NEEDTOBREATHE, Parachute and more. Among his work as a respected producer is his remix of NEEDTOBREATHE’s single, “Multiplied,” which appeared on the WOW Hits Party Mix Deluxe Edition in 2015.
