Songwriter Alex James is making an impact on the music world with his stirring lyrics and unmistakable melodies. Drawing on influences like James Taylor, The Smiths, Timbaland, Babyface, and The Killers, this innovative writer is turning pop music on its head by integrating classic song structure into avant-garde style. Growing up in South London, Alex constantly discovered new sounds in the area’s thriving music scene. As part of various bands with schoolmates and friends, his interest in songwriting has always been present: "Writing songs is something I do; I don’t really remember being interested in doing it, I just always did it," he remarks. However, like any true artist, his life experiences have had just as large a part in shaping his art. "I get inspiration from all around…people, books, films, dreams, current affairs.
