Biography

Canadian born director Andrew Van Slee is no stranger to the Entertainment Industry. Starting off at a young age as and actor Van Slee appeared in many local T.V. and Film Productions in Vancouver, Canada. Van Slee took acting to the next level by traveling to Pasadena, California and attending the full time program at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Andrew returned from Pasadena where he put his acting career on hold and became a salesman traveling to Toronto, Ontario at 21 and becoming the Ontario Regional Sales Manager for publishing giant MacLean Hunter. In Ontario he won the lottery with his wife Sue and traveled back to Vancouver where he used his winnings to open up an acting school. ATV Studios was born and Van Slee taught neophyte actors the basics of Acting for the Camera based on the teachings of Tony Barr. Van Slee also ran a high profile kids Agency called “Moo-vie Kidz” which was the largest Extras Casting Company in Canada providing movie extras to over 34 film and T.V. productions filmed in British Columbia. Andrew has always had a love affair with music and was classically trained as an opera singer and pianist and he has always loved the swinging sounds of Frank, Dean and Sammy. After a stint as a Line Producer / Production Manager on LAPD: To Protect and Serve with Dennis Hopper and Michael Madsen, Van Slee has gone back to his love of creating and shooting films. The multi-talented Writer/Director has a number of films slated for 2004 to be produced through his production company, Extraordinary Media Group, Ltd. One of the films, “Totally Brunette” is the story of the less than intelligent blonde who turns brunette to make it in the business world. This would be a follow up to his successful “Totally Blonde” which starred Michael Buble’. Van Slee produced the film’s soundtrack and “Totally Buble’” has been well received world wide including being a Billboard Top 20 album for a few weeks in 2003. Van Slee also plans to produce another CD with a variety of crooners. All in all, Van Slee can be summed up in four words that exemplify his Canadian roots, “He shoots….he scores!”
