NT music award winning singer-songwriters Caiti Baker has just dropped her stunning new soul and hip-hop infused single ‘I Wont’ Sleep’.
“I Won’t Sleep is a song about finding my identity after having been asleep with CFS for so long… The driving production is a musical metaphor for the energy and hype that for so long was absent in my life. In a way, it's a celebration of having clarity and being present.” Caiti said in a statement.
"It’s a hip hop album. It’s a soul album. It’s a roots album… You can choose to pigeonhole me however you like, but the bottom line is that it’s my album.” Caiti continues to say of the forthcoming album Zinc, out October 6.
Produced by long-time collaborator J. Mangohig and Michael Hohnen and influenced by the likes of A.B. Original, Booker T, Briggs, Dan Sultan, Pete Murray and Son Little, the new single release comes just in time for her Bigsound performance. Catch her 11:40pm on Tuesday September 5 at Laruche, or 10pm Wednesday September 6 at the Empire Hotel.
